Slip and Fall

Building owners, businesses and landlords have a duty to keep their premises safe, for their guests and customers.  Unfortunately, not all owners exercise the care that is due to keep their premises safe.  Stairways may not be well lit or properly maintained, hazardous areas may not be properly identified, walkways may not be maintained, and grocery isles may not be inspected. 
If you are hurt on someone else’s property, notify the owner and  make a report.   Do no rely on the owner/management if they tell you they will make a report.  While it may be  their responsibility to document the incident, they are not doing so for your benefit.  Get the owner’s/manager’s name and telephone number and keep a copy of the report for yourself.  And, if there are any witnesses, get their names(s) and phone number(s) as well.
